All training session are as normal during the week of February 16-22 with the exception of Thursday 19 for Bronze A & B at Stirling Highschool. This session is cancelled as we have not been able to secure access to the school that evening.

With the Commonwealth Games approaching in 2014, the focus on leaving a legacy of sporting excellence to inspire our young people is critical. The emphasis on coaches and coaching is now recognised as a fundamental component of this sporting pathway.
A new sporting partnership has created a unique opportunity for two
This partnership consisting of
Stirling Swimming, Alloa Amateur Swimming Club, The University of Stirling, SportCentral, Clackmannanshire Council and Active Stirling is championing this unique model.
Each partner is contributing to enable each club to secure the services of a qualified coach to deliver poolside training for their club in conjunction with study for the MSc in Sports Coaching at the
The 2 year project will ensure that the two clubs continue to develop and strengthen the swimmer and coach pathway and link closely with the local authority swimming development programmes.
“This is exactly where the club wants to be, in a position of strength, supporting both the club swimmers and club coach to develop together” said Craig Rankine from Alloa Amateur Swimming Club.
“This is a prime example of successful regional partnership working, bringing together individual strength and resource to collectively make a significant sporting impact within clubs and coaching” said Rob Hardie, partnership manager of SportCentral.

Training Times
Until the opening of the new facilities at Forthbank the following training times applies for
Bronze B Thursday 6-7pm
Bronze A Tuesday 6-7pm Stirling High Thursday 6-7pm
Silver B Monday 6.15-8.15pm Wallace Tuesday 6-8pm
For Silver A and Gold squad their times are still changing and communication will happen directly to the squads.
Relay Success at Scottish Short Course Nationals
Both the Senior Men’s relay team and the Senior Woman’s relay team walked away with medals in the weekend.
The Senior Men took Silver in the 4 by 100m free relay and bronze in the 4 by 50m free relay
The Senior Woman took bronze in both the 4 by 50m free relay and in the 4 by 100m free relay.
During the 3 day National event Stirling Swimmers produced a lot of great results with several of our swimmers in finals
Martin Cremin in the 1500 free A final where he came 6th , 3rd in the 400 free B final and 10th in the 200 fly B final
Rosie Ogg, won the B final for the 100 free, 3 in the 200 free B final and came 4th in the B final for the 50 free
Katie McKenna came 4th in the B final in the 100 free, 6th in the B final in the 400 free and 9th in the 200 free final.
Stephanie Hanley came 8th in the 50m backstroke A final and 8th in the 100 backstroke A final, won the B final in 200 backstroke, came 7th in the 200IM B final,
Jade Williams came 6th in the B final in the 100 fly and 6th in the 400 IM B final, 7th in the 200fly B final,
Fiona Gray came 9th in the 200 breast A final and 3rd in the B final in 100 breast,
Nicole Govan came 5th in the B final in 50 fly
Kevin Dickson came 6th in the B final in 50 fly
Other swimmers who recorded PB’s at the event included Genna Doctor, Ross Kirkwood, Nikoline Laidlaw, Andrew Loudon, Jennifer Rogerson and Claire Wilson.
